It is difficult to give a clear answer to what "a leader needs to get to the top". The answer to this question was sought by Harvard researchers, Rasmus Hougaard and Jacqualine Carter. And they did a survey to find out what is what distinguishes the great leaders from the others. They have studied over 1,000 business leaders in more than 800 companies. And they found that the No1 element that makes the difference is compassion. Yes, you probably did not expect it.
As the survey shows, teams with sympathetic leaders are performing better. Also, these groups have better co-operation within themselves, and they are more loyal to their companies.
Somehow, the great leaders create the right interface. Where workers are not afraid to share their opinions, and information is easily and instantly circulated. Also, these leaders are accessible and explain to the members of their team why. The great purpose for which they must work each time.
Beyond the best performance, employees are willing to stay for longer in the same company. It is no accident that the phrase says that employees do not give up their jobs, but that their employer or their principal. Here is the reverse: They stay, because they are happy to work with their boss.
